How to Reconnect a Canvas Assignment to VeriCite LTI - June 2016 Update

The Canvas API for grade and comment syncing requires a consistent URL from VeriCite. VeriCite staff detected errors on 2016-06-03 when syncing grades and comments via the Canvas API. Updated VeriCite code was put in place at 07:00 EDT to resolve sync issues. Please ensure that the LTI “Launch URL” is set to https://app.vericite.com/vericite/

If your VeriCite assignment was created prior to June 6, 2016, you may receive the following error when attempting to sync with your Canvas gradebook.

To resolve this error, your assignment will need to be reconnected with VeriCite. The steps below show how to reconnect an existing assignment.

Go to your existing Assignment.

In the Assignments area of your course, click on the VeriCite assignment that needs updating.

Click Edit Assignment Settings.

For Submission Type select External Tool.

For Submission Type select External Tool.

Under External Tool Options, click Find.

Under External Tool Options, click Find.

Choose VeriCite from the list of configured tools.

Choose VeriCite from the list of configured tools.

Click Select.

Click Select.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

This will reconnect your assignment with VeriCite.
